Growing up when you do something nice for an elder thier prayer usually is "you will marry a rich husband" (chukwu ga enye gi di welu ego) we got programmed to think that the goal is "a rich husband" every now & then you hear things like the beauty of a man is "his pocket " and the beauty of a woman is her character.
"A woman's education ends in the kitchen " this is the mindset we grew up with.
They taught us that an "INDEPENDENT WOMAN" is a turn off or scares away suitors.
A good woman must be dependent on her husband to provide all her needs. Its not ok to be "THE WEALTHY WIFE" etc
So today we have lots of untrained / mannerless young men devouring our well trained /well mannered daughters/ young women.
We have our daughters who will only pay attention to a man if he is well to do and our sons who may make great husbands but are yet to make it financially can't find beffitting wives 😂
When we have trained our daughters to marry rich men who will marry our poor sons?
Now we are stuck with daughters who can endure and are enduring immense toxicity/abuse in thier relationships/marriages because they can't provide for themselves or they believe that thats the way it should be. they have watched thier mother go through same and thier own children will endure same and cycle continues
